1. Information we collect

RouteLinq does not require registration or account creation. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information simply by visiting or using the site.

The following information may be collected automatically when you visit RouteLinq:

• Pages visited and navigation paths
• General geographic location (country or region level, not precise)
• Browser type, operating system, and device type
• Referring website or source
• Time and duration of visits
• Search queries entered on the site

If you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message in order to respond to your inquiry.

2. Analytics and tracking tools

RouteLinq uses three analytics tools to understand how the site is used and to improve it over time. These tools collect data as described above.

3. How we use information

We use the information collected to:

• Understand which pages and features are most useful
• Identify and fix bugs or usability issues
• Improve the quality and coverage of route data
• Respond to contact form submissions
• Monitor site performance and availability

We do not use your information to serve advertising, sell to third parties, build behavioral profiles for commercial purposes, or send unsolicited email.

4. Third-party services

RouteLinq uses the following third-party services in delivering the site. Each has their own privacy practices:

• Cloudflare Pages — Site hosting and CDN. Cloudflare may log request metadata for security and performance purposes.
• Supabase — Database infrastructure. Route and airport data is stored here. No personal user data is stored in Supabase.
• Formspree — Contact form processing. When you submit the contact form, your name, email, and message are transmitted to Formspree.
• Google Fonts — Font delivery. Google may log font requests.

5. Cookies

RouteLinq uses cookies set by the analytics tools described above (Google Analytics, Matomo, and Microsoft Clarity). These are analytics cookies used to distinguish sessions and understand usage patterns.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies for retargeting, or cookies that persist personal information across sites.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect analytics but will not affect your ability to use the site's core functionality.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of data we hold about you.

Since RouteLinq does not collect personally identifiable information during normal use, most of these rights apply primarily to contact form submissions. To make a request, contact us at the address below.

California residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion.

European residents (GDPR): Where applicable, you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. Our legal basis for analytics processing is legitimate interest in improving the site.

7. Data retention

Analytics data is retained according to the default settings of each analytics platform (typically 14 months for GA4, indefinitely for self-hosted Matomo). Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and are then deleted.

8. Children's privacy

RouteLinq is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our contact form, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of RouteLinq after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
